Conte backs misfiring Morata
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has given his backing to misfiring striker Alvero Morata after his shocking miss in Wednesday’s draw with Arsenal.
The 25-year-old Spaniard missed a glorious chance to give the Blues a 14th-minute lead and fluffed a number of other decent chances, as the Premier League rivals shared the spoils in a pulsating 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
The Blues boss said: “When you are winning 2-1 and there are two minutes to go, I think we have to win the game.
“This is not a lucky period for [Morata]. For the striker it’s very important to score. If you score, your confidence is up.
“In this case your confidence can go down. [But] he’s very young. The goal is coming.”
